Do not those who deny the truth see that the heavens and the earth were joined together and that We then split them asunder? And that We have made every living thing out of water? Will they still not believe? 30 And We have placed mountains as anchors in the earth so that it may not shake with them; and We kept wide roads in it, so that they may find guidance. 31 And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away. 32 And He it is Who has created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, each in an orbit floating. 33 AND [remind those who deny thee, O Prophet, that] never have We granted life everlasting to any mortal before thee: but do they, perchance, hope that although thou must die, they will live forever?" 34 Every soul has to experience the taste of death. We test you with both hardships and blessings. In the end you will all return to Us. 35 But [thus it is:] whenever they who are bent on denying the truth consider thee, they make thee but a target of their mockery, [saying to one another,] "Is this the one who speaks [so contemptuously] of your gods?" and yet, it is they themselves who, at [every] mention of the Most Gracious, are wont to deny the truth! 36 Man was created of haste. Assuredly I shall show you My signs; so demand not that I make haste. 37 And they say: When will this threat come to pass if you are truthful? 38 Would that the unbelievers knew that no one would protect their faces and backs against the fire, nor they would be helped. 39 Nay, it may come to them all of a sudden and confound them: no power will they have then to avert it, nor will they (then) get respite. 40 And indeed the Noble Messengers before you were mocked at, but their mockery ruined the mockers themselves. 41
