Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them, and we made every living thing of water? Will they not then believe? 30 We placed stabilisers in the earth so that as it revolved with them you lived undisturbed; and We provided passageways between them so that men may find their way; 31 And We have made the heaven a roof, safe and well guarded. Yet they turn away from its signs (i.e. sun, moon, winds, clouds, etc.). 32 And He it is Who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all (orbs) travel along swiftly in their celestial spheres. 33 We have given no man everlastingness before you. So then if you die, will they live ever after? 34 Every soul is going to taste of death, and We shall prove you with evil and good as a temptation; and unto Us ye shall be returned. 35 And when those who disbelieve see you, they do not take you but for one to be scoffed at: Is this he who speaks of your gods? And they are deniers at the mention of the Beneficent Allah. 36 Man is hasty by nature. I shall certainly show you My Signs. Do not ask Me to be hasty. 37 And they say: "When will this promise (come to pass), if you are truthful." 38 Had those who disbelieve but known (of the time) when they shall not be able to ward off the fire from their faces nor from their backs, nor shall they be helped. 39 Nay, it (the Fire or the Day of Resurrection) will come upon them all of a sudden and will perplex them, and they will have no power to avert it, nor will they get respite. 40 Before you, other Messengers were mocked, but the mockers were encompassed by the very thing they mocked. 41
