Say thou: who guardeth you by night and by day from the Compassionate? Yet from the remembrance of their Lord they avert themselves! 42 Or have they gods who can shield them from Us? They cannot help themselves nor can they be defended from Us. 43 We have been providing these men and their fathers with the means of enjoyment for a long time. Have they not ever considered that We populated the earth and then caused many of the inhabitants to pass away? Can they have any success (in their wickedness)? 44 Say: 'I warn you only by the Revelation' But the deaf hear nothing when they are warned. 45 And if a breath (minor calamity) of the Torment of your Lord touches them, they will surely cry: "Woe unto us! Indeed we have been Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.). 46 And We will set up a just balance on the day of resurrection, so no soul shall be dealt with unjustly in the least; and though there be the weight of a grain of mustard seed, (yet) will We bring it, and sufficient are We to take account. 47 And indeed We granted to Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron) the criterion (of right and wrong), and a shining light [i.e. the Taurat (Torah)] and a Reminder for Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V. 2:2). 48 who fear their unseen Lord and are anxious about the Day of Judgment. 49 This is a blessed remembrance, sent down by Us; so do you deny it? 50
