1/2 Hizb 33

۞ Surely We had bestowed wisdom upon Abraham even earlier, and We knew him well. 51 when he said to his father and his people, 'What are these statues unto which you are cleaving?' 52 They replied: 'We found our fathers worshipping them' 53 He said: "You and your fathers were in clear error." 54 They said, “Have you brought the Truth to us, or are you just making fun?” 55 He answered: "Nay, but your [true] Sustainer is the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth - He who has brought them into being: and I am one of those who bear witness to this [truth]!" 56 I swear by God I will do something to your idols when you have turned your backs and gone." 57 He broke them all into pieces, except for the biggest one of them, so that they might return to it [for enquiry]. 58 They said, 'Who has. done this with our gods? Surely he is one of the evildoers.' 59 They said, 'We heard a young man making mention of them, and he was called Abraham.' 60 They said: Then bring him (hither) before the people's eyes that they may testify. 61 They said: "Are you the one who has done this to our gods, O Ibrahim (Abraham)?" 62 He answered: "Rather it was this supreme one who has done it. So ask them, if they can speak." 63 And so they turned upon one another, saying, "Behold, it is you who are doing wrong." 64 then they hung their heads, and said, "O Abraham! You know they cannot speak." 65 Abraham said, "So, do you worship something instead of God that can neither benefit you nor harm you? 66 Fie on you and on what you serve besides Allah; what! do you not then understand? 67 They said: 'Burn him and help your gods, if you are going to do anything' 68 We (Allah) said: "O fire! Be you coolness and safety for Ibrahim (Abraham)!" 69 Then they sought a stratagem against him: but We made them the ones that lost most! 70 And We delivered him as well as Lut (removing them) to the land which We had blessed for all people. 71 We granted him Isaac and Jacob as a gift and helped both of them to become righteous people. 72 And We made them leaders who guide by Our command, and We sent them the divine revelation to do good deeds and to keep the prayer established and to give charity; and they used to worship Us. 73 To Lot We gave wisdom and knowledge, and saved him from a people who acted villainously and were certainly wicked and disobedient. 74 And We admitted him into Our mercy. Verily he was of the righteous. 75

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
