Before him Noah cried out to Us, and We heard his prayer. We saved him and all his household from a great distress. 76 And We succoured him against the people who belied Our signs; verily they were a people evil, so we drowned them all. 77 We bestowed the same favour upon David and Solomon. Recall, when they gave judgement regarding a tillage into which the sheep of some people had strayed at night, and We were witnesses to their judgement. 78 And We explained the case to Sulaiman; and to both We gave the kingdom and knowledge; and subjected the hills to proclaim the Purity along with Dawud, and (also subjected) the birds; and these were Our works. 79 We taught him the craft of making garments that fortify you against your own violence. Are you thankful? 80 And unto Sulaiman We subjected the wind, strongly raging, running at his command toward the land wherein We had placed Our blessing; and of evrything We are the knowers. 81 And many of the devils (We also made obedient to him) who dived for him, and did many other things; and We kept watch over them. 82 ۞ And (remember) Job, when He cried to his Lord, "Truly distress has seized me, but Thou art the Most Merciful of those that are merciful." 83 We answered him and removed his affliction, and We gave his people, and those like them that were with them, mercy from Us, as a reminder to those who worship. 84 And Isma'il and ldris and Zul-Kifl! each were of the patient. 85 And We admitted them into Our mercy. Indeed, they were of the righteous. 86 And Zun-nun! recall what time he departed in anger and imagined that We could not straiten him, then he cried in the darknesses, that: there is no god but Thou! hallowed be Thou! verily I have been of the wrong-doers. 87 We therefore heard his prayer and rescued him from grief; and similarly We shall rescue the Muslims. 88 And We bestowed favour upon Zechariah, when he cried to his Lord: "Lord! Leave me not solitary (without any issue). You are the Best Inheritor." 89 So We answered him, and bestowed on him John, and We set his wife right for him; truly they vied with one another, hastening to good works, and called upon Us out of yearning and awe; and they were humble to Us. 90 And [mention] the one who guarded her chastity, so We blew into her [garment] through Our angel [Gabriel], and We made her and her son a sign for the worlds. 91 Indeed, this nation of yours is one nation, and I am Your Lord, therefore worship Me. 92 But they (the Christians and Jews) split their affair between them all shall return to Us. 93
