Remember Noah when he called to Us before this. We heard him and saved him and those with him from great distress; 76 We helped him against people who rejected Our Signs: truly they were a people given to Evil: so We drowned them (in the Flood) all together. 77 And (remember) Dawud (David) and Sulaiman (Solomon), when they gave judgement in the case of the field in which the sheep of certain people had pastured at night and We were witness to their judgement. 78 and We made Solomon to understand it, and unto each gave We judgment and knowledge. And with David We subjected the mountains to give glory, and the birds, and We were doers. 79 And We taught him the art of making garments (of mail) to protect you in your daring. Are ye then thankful? 80 And We subdued the strongly raging wind to Solomon which blew at his bidding towards the land We blessed. We know everything. 81 And of the Shayatin (devils) (from the jinns) were some who dived for him, and did other work besides that; and it was We Who guarded them. 82 ۞ We bestowed (the same wisdom, judgement and knowledge) upon Job. Recall, when he cried to his Lord: "Behold, disease has struck me and You are the Most Merciful of those that are merciful." 83 So We heard his cry and relieved him of the misery he was in. We restored his family to him, and along with them gave him others similar to them as a grace from Us and reminder for those who are obedient. 84 And Ismail and Idris and Zulkifl; all were of the patient ones; 85 And We caused them to enter into Our mercy, surely they were of the good ones. 86 And Zun-nun! recall what time he departed in anger and imagined that We could not straiten him, then he cried in the darknesses, that: there is no god but Thou! hallowed be Thou! verily I have been of the wrong-doers. 87 We heard his cry, and saved him from the anguish. That is how We deliver those who believe. 88 And (remember) Zakariya (Zachariah), when he cried to his Lord: "O My Lord! Leave me not single (childless), though You are the Best of the inheritors." 89 So We accepted his prayer and bestowed upon him John, and We made his wife fit (to bear a child). Verily they hastened in doing good works and called upon Us with longing and fear, and humbled themselves to Us. 90 And (remember) she who guarded her chastity [Virgin Maryam (Mary)], We breathed into (the sleeves of) her (shirt or garment) [through Our Ruh - Jibrael (Gabriel)], and We made her and her son ['Iesa (Jesus)] a sign for Al-'Alamin (the mankind and jinns). 91 Indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me. 92 But (later generations) cut off their affair (of unity), one from another: (yet) will they all return to Us. 93
