And Noah, when he cried of old, We heard his prayer and saved him and his household from the great affliction. 76 We helped him against people who rejected Our Signs: truly they were a people given to Evil: so We drowned them (in the Flood) all together. 77 AND [remember] David and Solomon - [how it was] when both of them gave judgment concerning the field into which some people's sheep had strayed by night and pastured therein, and [how] We bore witness to their judgment: 78 And We gave understanding of the case to Solomon, and to each [of them] We gave judgement and knowledge. And We subjected the mountains to exalt [Us], along with David and [also] the birds. And We were doing [that]. 79 And We taught him the art of making garments (of mail) to protect you in your daring. Are ye then thankful? 80 We subjected to Solomon the stormy wind, which blew at his behest towards the land which We had blessed. For it is We who have knowledge of all things -- 81 And among the rebellious forces [which We made subservient to him] there were some that dived for him [into the sea] and performed other works, besides: but it was We who kept watch over them. 82 ۞ Remember Job when he called on his Lord saying, "I have been afflicted with great distress: but You are the most merciful of the merciful." 83 So We heard his cry and relieved him of the misery he was in. We restored his family to him, and along with them gave him others similar to them as a grace from Us and reminder for those who are obedient. 84 And (remember) Isma'il, Idris, and Zul-kifl, all (men) of constancy and patience; 85 We admitted them to Our Mercy, for they were of the righteous. 86 And Dhul Nun -- when he went forth enraged and thought that We would have no power over him; then he called out in the darkness, 'There is no god but Thou. Glory be to Thee! I have done evil.' 87 We answered his prayer and saved him from his grief. Thus We save the faithful ones. 88 And (remember) Zakariya, when he cried to his Lord: "O my Lord! leave me not without offspring, though thou art the best of inheritors." 89 So We answered him, and We bestowed on him Yahya and We made sound for him his spouse. Verily they were wont to vie with one another in good deeds and to call upon us with longing and dread, and they were ever before us meek. 90 Remember the one who guarded her chastity; so We breathed Our Spirit into her, and made her and her son a sign for all people. 91 Indeed, this nation of yours is one nation, and I am Your Lord, therefore worship Me. 92 And [yet] they divided their affair among themselves, [but] all to Us will return. 93
