Before him Noah cried out to Us, and We heard his prayer. We saved him and all his household from a great distress. 76 And We helped him against the people who rejected Our communications; surely they were an evil people, so We drowned them all. 77 And remember David and Solomon, when they gave judgment in the matter of the field into which the sheep of certain people had strayed by night: We did witness their judgment. 78 And We made Sulaiman (Solomon) to understand (the case), and to each of them We gave Hukman (right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) and knowledge. And We subjected the mountains and the birds to glorify Our Praises along with Dawud (David), And it was We Who were the doers (of all these things). 79 We taught him the art of making coats of mail so that you could protect yourselves during a war. Will you then give thanks? 80 And to Solomon the wind, strongly blowing, that ran at his command unto the land that We had blessed; and We had knowledge of everything; 81 And of the devils were those who dived for him and did work other than that. And We were of them a guardian. 82 ۞ And (remember) Ayub (Job), when he cried to his Lord: "Verily, distress has seized me, and You are the Most Merciful of all those who show mercy." 83 So We answered his call, and We removed the distress that was on him, and We restored his family to him (that he had lost), and the like thereof along with them, as a mercy from Ourselves and a Reminder for all who worship Us. 84 And (mention) Ishmael, and Idris, and Dhu'l-Kifl. All were of the steadfast. 85 And We caused them to enter into Our mercy, surely they were of the good ones. 86 And remember Zun-nun, when he departed in wrath: He imagined that We had no power over him! But he cried through the deptHs of darkness, "There is no god but thou: glory to thee: I was indeed wrong!" 87 Thereupon We accepted his prayer, and rescued him from grief. Thus do We rescue the believers. 88 AND [thus did We deliver] Zachariah when he cried out unto his Sustainer: "O my Sustainer! Leave me not childless! But [even if Thou grant me no bodily heir, I know that] Thou wilt remain when all else has ceased to be!" 89 So We heard his prayer and bestowed John upon him and made his wife fit to bear him a child. They used to hasten to do good and they called on Us in hope and fear, and they were always humble towards Us. 90 And (remember) her who guarded her chastity: We breathed into her of Our spirit, and We made her and her son a sign for all peoples. 91 Lo! this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me. 92 And they cut up their affair among them; all are unto Us returners. 93
