Pilgrimage (Al-Hajj)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Mankind! fear your Lord; verily the quake of the Hour shall be a thing mighty. 1 On the Day when you behold it, every woman that feeds a child at her breast will utterly forget her nursling, and every woman heavy with child will bring forth her burden [before her time]; and it will seem to thee that all mankind is drunk, although they will not be drunk - but vehement will be [their dread of] God's chastisement. 2 And of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge and follows every rebellious devil. 3 About the (Evil One) it is decreed that whoever turns to him for friendship, him will he lead astray, and he will guide him to the Penalty of the Fire. 4 O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed - that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind. 5 This is so, because Allah is the Reality: it is He Who gives life to the dead, and it is He Who has power over all things. 6 The Hour will come without a doubt, and God will raise those who are dead. 7 And of mankind is he who disputeth respecting Allah without knowledge or guidance or a Book luminous. 8 Bending his neck, that he may lead astray from the way of Allah; his shall be humiliation in the world, and We shall make him taste on the Day of Judgment the torment of burning. 9 “This is the recompense of what your hands have sent ahead, and Allah does not oppress His bondmen." 10
