Pilgrimage (Al-Hajj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ O mankind, fear the (wrath of) your Lord! Indeed, the earthquake of the Hour (of Judgement) will be an awesome thing. 1 On the day when you shall see it, every woman giving suck shall quit in confusion what she suckled, and every pregnant woman shall lay down her burden, and you shall see men intoxicated, and they shall not be intoxicated but the chastisement of Allah will be severe. 2 And of mankind is he who disputeth respecting Allah without knowledge, and followeth any satan froward. 3 About the (Evil One) it is decreed that whoever turns to him for friendship, him will he lead astray, and he will guide him to the Penalty of the Fire. 4 O people! if you are in doubt about the raising, then surely We created you from dust, then from a small seed, then from a clot, then from a lump of flesh, complete in make and incomplete, that We may make clear to you; and We cause what We please to stay in the wombs till an appointed time, then We bring you forth as babies, then that you may attain your maturity; and of you is he who is caused to die, and of you is he who is brought back to the worst part of life, so that after having knowledge he does not know anything; and you see the earth sterile land, but when We send down on it the water, it stirs and swells and brings forth of every kind a beautiful herbage. 5 This is because Allah is the Truth and because He gives life to the dead and because He has power over all things 6 And because the Hour will come, there is no doubt thereof; and because Allah will raise those who are in the graves. 7 Some dispute about Allah, though they have neither knowledge nor guidance, nor an illuminating Book. 8 (Disdainfully) bending his side, in order to lead (men) astray from the Path of Allah: for him there is disgrace in this life, and on the Day of Judgment We shall make him taste the Penalty of burning (Fire). 9 (And unto him it will be said): This is for that which thy two hands have sent before, and because Allah is no oppressor of His slaves. 10
