We assigned to Abraham the site of the House, saying, "Do not associate with Me anything and purify My House for those who circumambulate [the Kabah] and those who stand upright, and those who bow and prostrate themselves." 26 And proclaim to mankind the Hajj (pilgrimage). They will come to you on foot and on every lean camel, they will come from every deep and distant (wide) mountain highway (to perform Hajj). 27 so that they might experience much that shall be of benefit to them, and that they might extol the name of God on the days appointed [for sacrifice,] over whatever heads of cattle He may have provided for them [to this end]: eat, then, thereof, and feed the unfortunate poor. 28 Then let them end their untidiness and fulfill their vows and perform Tawaf around the ancient House." 29 Such (was the purpose of building the Kabah). Whosoever, then, venerates Allah's sanctities will find it to be good for him in the sight of his Lord. Cattle have been made lawful for you except those mentioned to you (as unlawful). So shun the abomination of idols and shun all words of falsehood. 30 Turning unto Allah (only), not ascribing partners unto Him; for whoso ascribeth partners unto Allah, it is as if he had fallen from the sky and the birds had snatched him or the wind had blown him to a far-off place. 31 Thus it is. He who honours the symbols set up by God shows the piety of his heart. 32 In the cattle are benefits for you up to a fixed time and then they are to be brought to the Free House. 33
