The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Certainly will the believers have succeeded: 1 Who are humble in their service, 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 Except from their wives and women slaves of old are free of blame, 6 As for those who seek beyond that, they are transgressors" 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 Those are the heirs 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 Indeed We created man from a chosen soil. 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. 15 Then will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And indeed We have created above you seven heavens (one over the other), and We are never unaware of the creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
