The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 Then We created of the drop, a clot (of congealed blood) and We created the clot into bitesize tissue, then We created the bitesize tissue into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it an other creation. Blessed is Allah, the Best of creators! 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven heavens above you and have never been neglectful to Our Creation. 17 And We sent down water from the sky in proper measure, then stored it in the earth; and indeed We are Able to take it away! 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
