The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ THE TRUE BELIEVERS will be successful, 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 And who do not incline towards indecent matters. 3 those who pay the zakat; 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 And those who keep a guard on their prayers; 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 We have created seven heavens above you and have never been neglectful to Our Creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
