The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 And who do not incline towards indecent matters. 3 who give charity, 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 It is they, they who shall be the inheritors 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
