The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 (but whosoever seeks after more than that, those are the transgressors) 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 These will be the heirs, 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 Indeed We created man from a chosen soil. 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 and then, behold! you shall be raised from the dead on Resurrection Day. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
