The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Triumphant indeed are the believers, 1 They who are during their prayer humbly submissive 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. 11 We have created the human being from an extract of clay 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 Then We made the seed a clot, then We made the clot a lump of flesh, then We made (in) the lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We caused it to grow into another creation, so blessed be Allah, the best of the creators. 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 And We sent down water from the sky in proper measure, then stored it in the earth; and indeed We are Able to take it away! 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 and by them - as by the ships [over the sea] - you are borne [overland]. 22
