The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 Who guard their sex 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 These will be the heirs, 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 Indeed We created man from a chosen soil. 12 Thereafter We made him (the offspring of Adam) as a Nutfah (mixed drops of the male and female sexual discharge) (and lodged it) in a safe lodging (womb of the woman). 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 And then you will certainly die, 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 We have created seven heavens above you and have never been neglectful to Our Creation. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 and upon them and on the ships you are carried. 22
