The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 And they who guard their private parts 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 and who observe their prayers. 9 These are the heirs 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 Then We made the seed a clot, then We made the clot a lump of flesh, then We made (in) the lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We caused it to grow into another creation, so blessed be Allah, the best of the creators. 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 Then (again), surely, you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven ways above you; of Our creation, We are never inattentive. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
