The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 And they who turn away from ill speech 3 pay their religious tax 4 who guard their privates, 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 to their promise, 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat. 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 And on them and on the ship ye are borne. 22
