The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 who guard their privates, 5 Except from their wives and women slaves of old are free of blame, 6 But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 then We created of the drop a clot then We created of the clot a tissue then We created of the tissue bones then We garmented the bones in flesh; thereafter We produced him as another creature. So blessed be God, the fairest of creators! 14 And then you will certainly die, 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
