The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 those who pay the zakat; 4 Who guard their sex 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
