The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Triumphant indeed are the believers, 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 Who are active in deeds of charity; 4 And they who guard their private parts 5 Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed - 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 These are the heirs 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 and by them - as by the ships [over the sea] - you are borne [overland]. 22
