The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The believers must (eventually) win through,- 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 who give charity, 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 to their promise, 9 Those are the heirs 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 We created the human from an essence of clay: 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 And We sent down water from the sky in proper measure, then stored it in the earth; and indeed We are Able to take it away! 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
