The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 Who are humble in their service, 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 save from their wives, or those whom their right hands possess; for with regard to them they are free from blame " 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 Thereafter We made him (the offspring of Adam) as a Nutfah (mixed drops of the male and female sexual discharge) (and lodged it) in a safe lodging (womb of the woman). 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 We have created seven ways above you; of Our creation, We are never inattentive. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
