The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Certainly will the believers have succeeded: 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed. 6 (but whosoever seeks after more than that, those are the transgressors) 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 and who guard their Prayers. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 who will inherit Paradise; they shall live there for ever. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 We have created seven heavens above you and have never been neglectful to Our Creation. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
