The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 They who are during their prayer humbly submissive 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 And who are payers of the poor-due; 4 those who safeguard their chastity 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 and then, behold! you shall be raised from the dead on Resurrection Day. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
