The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 who are humble in their prayers; 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 and guard their private parts 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 As for those who seek beyond that, they are transgressors" 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 to their promise, 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 And We sent down from the heaven water in measure, and We caused it to settle in the earth; and verily to take it away We are Able. 18 And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat. 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 And on them and on the ship ye are borne. 22
