The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 pay their religious tax 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 Also, a tree which grows on the Tor of Sinai and gives oil and relish for its eaters. 20 And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
