The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 They who are during their prayer humbly submissive 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 These are the heirs 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 Then We made the seed a clot, then We made the clot a lump of flesh, then We made (in) the lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We caused it to grow into another creation, so blessed be Allah, the best of the creators. 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And indeed We have created above you seven heavens (one over the other), and We are never unaware of the creation. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
