The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 And they who guard their private parts 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 who will inherit Paradise; they shall live there for ever. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 And indeed We have created above you seven heavens (one over the other), and We are never unaware of the creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 Also, a tree which grows on the Tor of Sinai and gives oil and relish for its eaters. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
