The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 then We created of the drop a clot then We created of the clot a tissue then We created of the tissue bones then We garmented the bones in flesh; thereafter We produced him as another creature. So blessed be God, the fairest of creators! 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 And We sent down from the heaven water in measure, and We caused it to settle in the earth; and verily to take it away We are Able. 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 And you are carried on them and on the ship. 22
