The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 and who observe their prayers. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 And We sent down water from the sky in proper measure, then stored it in the earth; and indeed We are Able to take it away! 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. 22

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
