The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 And they who are observant of zakah 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 These are the heirs 10 that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
