The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Certainly will the believers have succeeded: 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 And they who turn away from ill speech 3 And they who are observant of zakah 4 Who guard their sex 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 (but whosoever seeks after more than that, those are the transgressors) 7 those who are faithful to their trusts and promises; 8 And who pay heed to their prayers. 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
