The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 those who pay the zakat; 4 And who guard their private organs. 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 And those who keep proper regard for their trusts and their pledges. 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 Those are the heirs 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 Then will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 The tree that grows on Mount Sinai yields oil and seasoning for those who eat. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 And you are carried on them and on the ship. 22
