The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 And they who are observant of zakah 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 And those who keep a guard on their prayers; 9 These will be the heirs, 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
