The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Triumphant indeed are the believers, 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 These are the real gainers, 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
