The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 Who guard their sex 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; 7 And those who keep proper regard for their trusts and their pledges. 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 Those are the heirs 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
