The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The believers must (eventually) win through,- 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 Except from their wives and women slaves of old are free of blame, 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 These are the heirs 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 We created the human from an essence of clay: 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And certainly We made above you seven heavens; and never are We heedless of creation. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palm and vines; for you therein are fruits many, and thereof ye eat. 19 The tree that grows on Mount Sinai yields oil and seasoning for those who eat. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
