The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The believers must (eventually) win through,- 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 those who are true to their trust, 8 and who observe their prayers. 9 these are the heirs 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 NOW, INDEED, We create man out of the essence of clay, 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
