The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 Who guard their sex 5 save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 And on them and on the ship ye are borne. 22
