The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 NOW, INDEED, We create man out of the essence of clay, 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 We have created seven ways above you; of Our creation, We are never inattentive. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
