The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 They who are during their prayer humbly submissive 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 And they who are observant of zakah 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 And We sent down water from the sky in proper measure, then stored it in the earth; and indeed We are Able to take it away! 18 And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat. 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. 22
