The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 those who are true to their trust, 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
