The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Triumphant indeed are the believers, 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 pay their religious tax 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 those who are faithful to their trusts and promises; 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 Those are the heirs 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 then We created of the drop a clot then We created of the clot a tissue then We created of the tissue bones then We garmented the bones in flesh; thereafter We produced him as another creature. So blessed be God, the fairest of creators! 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And We sent down water from the sky in proper measure, then stored it in the earth; and indeed We are Able to take it away! 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. 22
