The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 who avoid impious talks, 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 And they who guard their private parts 5 Except from their wives and women slaves of old are free of blame, 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 those who are faithful to their trusts and promises; 8 and who guard their Prayers. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
