The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Who are humble in their service, 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 Who are active in deeds of charity; 4 And who guard their modesty - 5 Except from their wives and women slaves of old are free of blame, 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 those who are true to their trust, 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
