The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 Who are humble in their service, 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 who give charity, 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed - 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven ways above you; of Our creation, We are never inattentive. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
