AND, INDEED, We sent forth Noah unto his people and he said: "O my people! Worship God alone: you have no deity other than Him. Will you not, then, become conscious of Him?" 23 The chiefs of his people, who did not believe, said: "He is only a man like you. He wishes to acquire ascendancy over you. If God had willed He would have sent down angels. We never heard this from our elders. 24 He is only a madman, so bear with him for a time. 25 Submitted Nooh, “My Lord! Help me as they deny me.” 26 So We asked him to build the ark under Our eyes and guidance, (and said): "When Our command is issued and the source of water boils over, put a pair of every species in it, and your family except those for whom Our sentence has been passed already; and do not speak to Me for those who are wicked: They will be drowned. 27 And when you have embarked on the ship, you and whoever is with you, then say: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has saved us from the people who are Zalimun (i.e. oppressors, wrong-doers, polytheists, those who join others in worship with Allah, etc.). 28 And say thou, my Lord! cause me to land at a landing blest, and thou art the Best of these who bring to land. 29 There are great Signs in this story; and surely We do put people to test. 30 We brought another generation into existence after the people of Noah. 31 And we sent among them a messenger of their own, saying: Serve Allah, Ye have no other Allah save Him.
